Our Story

Shining Home Cleaning Services Manhattan NYC opened in 2014 on West 40th Street, and the neighborhood decided how we'd operate almost immediately. Midtown does not keep office hours. Our earliest regular clients were restaurant managers, stage crew, hospital staff and flight crews, and none of them could be home for a two-to-five appointment on a Tuesday. So we staffed around the clock, and we've stayed that way. 7,500+ cleans and a 5.0-star rating from 150+ clients later, a genuine share of our work still happens between midnight and dawn.

The second thing this neighborhood taught us is that the building is often harder than the apartment. Midtown is dense with doorman towers, and a great many of them require a certificate of insurance naming the building, your cleaner added to an approved-contractor list, and a service elevator reserved for a specific window before anyone reaches the lobby. Left to the resident, that's a week of emails with a managing agent. We took it on instead — all of it, at no charge — because it's the difference between a service that's convenient and one that's just another errand.

The homes themselves vary more than people expect over a small area. A Garment District loft conversion has high ceilings, exposed structure and vast window surfaces. A Hell's Kitchen walk-up has original tin ceilings and narrow stairs. A Hudson Yards apartment has floor-to-ceiling glass on three exposures and hard-water film on the shower screen within months of moving in. A Chelsea row house has 1840s wood and marble that a modern all-purpose cleaner would damage. We carry squeegees, extension poles, descaling agents and neutral soaps, and we ask which kind of home you have before quoting rather than after arriving.

The rest doesn't change. Your flat rate is agreed before we arrive and holds afterwards. There's no stair surcharge, which matters on the West Side. Every cleaner is background-checked, insured and bonded. And if we miss something, we'll be back within 24 hours to put it right at no cost.
